Lappish Magic Moments with Hannele

1 hour

Very easy

Experience the history and culture of Lapland through stories and tales with Hannele! Join her for a cozy session at the hut and have a chance to listen to traditional Lappish joiks in a modern way and the sounds of the magic drum!

Have you tried how it feels to walk outside in negative degrees when snow is crunching below your feet and the frost boy is pinching you from your cheeks? Can you imagine a moment when you look up to the sky and see thousands of stars, the moonlight and even Northern Lights? And when you let out a whistle the Northern Lights start their dance.

Can you imagine how it feels to live in a place where part of the year is completely dark and the sun doesn't rise from the horizon at all? However, during the summer months the sun shines for 24 hours a day without setting for weeks.

Hannele can.

Hannele has lived her entire life in the Sirkka village. Her father's side of the family is descended from the Lappish Sami and from her mother's side she is Finnish. Hannele adores her life in Lapland above all and has raised her own children to adulthood here in the small village of Sirkka.

Now Hannele has small grandchildren for who she is already telling her stories as she wants the little ones to know their own roots, culture and traditions.

Would you also like to listen to Hannele's stories about her life and her history? Would you like to hear her sing traditional Lappish songs?

If your answer is yes, make sure to book your own magical moment in the warmth of the crackling fire at the hut with Hannele.
