Half-day Snowmobile Safari with Lunch

Enjoy the thrill of the snowmobiling across the frozen forests and swamplands to the Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge – nestled by the river of Raudanjoki, where you will enjoy a lunch by the wilderness restaurant.

Our half day tour takes you beyond the regular safari tracks as we ride our snowmobiles towards the north, focusing on long track driving and enjoying the ride. There are hundreds of kilometers of snowmobile tracks to choose from and your guide will plan the route based on your riding skills and weather conditions. On the way, you will stop for a longer break for a tasty lunch in a warm and cozy restaurant.

Total driving time on this tour is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes.

Snowmobile tours start and end in Wild Nordic Safari Center (Joulupukintie 1) located next to Santa Claus Village. You can skip the return transfer and continue your visit to Santa.

Please note: you will stay outdoors for several hours and have a long snowmobile ride. Two adults ride on one snowmobile, single riding supplement for an extra charge. Single riding is highly recommended due to the nature and duration of the tour. All children joining need to be at least 140 cm tall and therefore able to sit on snowmobiles as passengers for the adult price.

    • Use of thermal clothing during the safari (thermal overall, boots, gloves, woolen socks, a balaclava and helmet)

    • Snowmobiling includes driving instructions and a safety briefing. Two adults ride on one snowmobile, single riding supplement for an extra charge. The riding time on snowmobiles is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.

        • All snowmobiles used on tours are insured as required by Finnish law. The self liability flat rate can be reduced to 200€ per driver/accident case by purchasing a self liability waiver from Wild Nordic for 20 €/driver for the shorter (1-4 hour) safaris and for 30 €/driver for the longer (5-8 hour) safaris

        • Pregnant women should not ride on the snowmobile or the sledge pulled by the snowmobile as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful to the human body.
        What to bring
          • The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver license – B category (please check that it is valid in Finland!). For all the activities including snowmobiling we ask you to take your driving licenses with you. The driver's license must be physically present ( A DIGITAL VERSION OR PHOTO IS NOT ENOUGH) and written in roman letters.
