Family Snowmobile Safari

This snowmobile safari is specialised for families and is tailor made for parents with little children. Snowmobiling experience for adults and children alike.

For families with smaller children, this tour offers excitement and fun for both parents and the juniors.

First the adults enjoy snowmobiling through forest trails and wonderful landscapes around Santa Claus Village while the children enjoy the ride seated comfortably in a sleigh pulled by our guide. Afterwards, we arrive at a safe driving area with mini-snowmobiles for children to try driving on their own, earning themselves a mini-snowmobile driving license.

Making a campfire will also be a highlight and everyone can enjoy sausages, marshmallows and warm berry juice while awaiting their turn on a mini-snowmobile.

Duration of the program is 2 hours, including preparations. The riding time on snowmobiles is approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour. The average speed during our short tours is limited due to the safety and traffic regulations. Two adults ride on one snowmobile, single riding supplement for an extra charge. Children are traveling in the sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. 

Please note: Driving the mini-snowmobile is suitable for children from 4 up to 11 - 12 years old. Smaller children will be assisted by the guide. Parents are not allowed to drive the mini-snowmobiles with the child due to safety reasons. 

Snowmobile tours start and end in Wild Nordic Safari Center (Joulupukintie 1) located next to Santa Claus Village. You can skip the return transfer and continue your visit to Santa.

        • All snowmobiles used on tours are insured as required by Finnish law. The self liability flat rate can be reduced to 200€ per driver/accident case by purchasing a self liability waiver from Wild Nordic for 20 €/driver for the shorter (1-4 hour) safaris and for 30 €/driver for the longer (5-8 hour) safaris.

        • The driver of a snowmobile must have a driving license which is valid in Finland.  Please bring your driving license with you.
        • Wild Nordic has 0 tolerance for alcohol and drugs during the activities
        • Will not be operated in insufficient snow conditions
        • Pregnant women should not ride on the snowmobile or the sledge pulled by the snowmobile as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful to the human body
        What to bring
          • The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver license – B category (please check that it is valid in Finland!). For all the activities including snowmobiling we ask you to take your driving licenses with you. The driver's license must be physically present ( A DIGITAL VERSION OR PHOTO IS NOT ENOUGH) and written in roman letters.
          • Your own thermal base and mid layer clothing
